Who is this guy ? That's not a uniform I recognize. Is he a contract security guy ? Just curious. And, NO, I don't think he's UN, or Russian, or Illuminati Royal Guard, just wondering if anyone's got an idea. I'm putting my tin foil hat back on, and will be under my desk if you need me.
Being a Navy base I would suspect a MP or SP type military policeman.

Appeared to wearing a USMC "cover" so likely an MP.

But they do...they REALLY, REALLY ban them now.

When will our fearless leaders recognize that 'gun free' zones are magnets for violence? Schools, post offices, federal property...all of them are more dangerous because 'good' people are the only ones prohibited from having guns.
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

12 dead. Guy is supposedly from Texas.

My prayers for the victims and their families.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Two policemen confirmed dead. RIP.

12 confirmed dead. RIP

May or may not include the shooter.

Shooter wearing military style uniform.

Saw one guy in a NCIS blue jacket, but FBI taking the lead on the investigation that would be Tobias C. Fornell.

Since shooter was from Texas, it will be our fault for making guns easy to obtain, not that it was a gun free zone.

Gun free zone not mentioned once by anyone. Shelter in place was their only option.

Since a muslim probably wasn't involve, but instead a Texan, I'm sure this one will be considered "terrorism" and not "workplace violence." :grumble
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

There are too many crazies out there. It will be interesting to see what the whole story is here.
The media has jumped up, valid or not, to also say the dead shooter had both a criminal record and a CHL; be interesting to see how that resolves. What a sorry mess for the victims/families...

But the Tarrant County DA didn't file charges and dropped it as they determined it was not reckless. :banghead:
