Today's non violent (so far) crimes being reported in Houston.

The third ATM being hauled off by a group of six men from local Marriot Hotels.

Apartment Assistant Manager has renters make rent checks out to her personally. Ends up pocketing 90,000 dollars before being caught. "yeah it was standard to make out the check to the lady"

In other news Mattress Firm, now that it is a public company, realizes that its real estate executives have been self dealing on leases throughout the country, by paying higher than market rates and longer than normal leases on properties they own or are part owners of.

Apparently these guys have discovered the perfect crime.

Six guys show up in one pick up truck. Walk in to the lobby of a Marriot Hotel, pick up the ATM, walk it out side, put it in the truck, drive away.

I would think the ATMs have radio transmitters, so I guess they know how to get that disarmed before they split up the cash at there "hideout".

The hair extension robberies stopped as quickly as they started.

I have not used an atm in over 10 years, I don’t even have a card to use if I wanted to use one.

Every time I stay at a Marriott I feel like they took cash right out of my wallet.

So I'm fairly certain ATMs still have some sort of lo-jack type technology on/in them. So unless the cooks are working fast and dumping them or somehow knows how to disable that, I suspect they'll be found pretty quickly.

Met a guy when I was living in Lousiana that had the job of retrieving them and was on the job during Katrina - pretty cool guy, he had some crazy stories involving the job

So I hadn't fully read the story
Richards said all of the machines were owned by different companies and none was equipped with GPS tracking devices.
Bet they regret cheaping out on that option now...

Could be the total amount of money in them isn't all that much.

Not bolted down and no transmitter. Makes me wonder if they are insured for more than they are worth.

Hmmm i have always wondered why there are 5 seperate Mattress Firms within 3 miles of my house. This explains much.

While living in St. Louis, I was buying a new mattress/foundation and inquired of the salesman why there was another Mattress Firm store visible across the street- his answer was it was "difficult to explain, actually a different company using same name." Sounded fishy then and still does.

So the actual record is five ATMs in six nights, four of the nights in a row: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/12/14/ma ... otels.html

Not just Marriott, but a couple other hotels as well.
