College Station police started sending out tweets about closing off a section of Texas Ave due to shot(s) fired and a standoff at a bar/club in a shopping center. This started going out about 11:00am today and seems to still be an ongoing situation. Swat on the scene.

1) Avoid bars during working hours (and maybe after hours, too).
2) Take the Bypass home.

Yeah, apparently this place was "closed". Latest info from CSPD says Texas AVE between Southwest PKWY and Krenek Tap still closed and they are still trying to talk the person out.J.R.@A&M wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 3:50 pmNotes to self:jerry_r60 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 3:11 pm College Station police started sending out tweets about closing off a section of Texas Ave due to shot(s) fired and a standoff at a bar/club in a shopping center. Suspect surrendered after the building sprinkler system went off. Guess he wasn't ready for a shower.

College Station police confirmed to KBTX that officers were able to arrest Jones after the building was rammed using a "BearCat" armored personnel carrier. According to Lt. Craig Anderson, the impact from the vehicle triggered the building's sprinkler system, which caused Jones to walk outside, where he was arrested.

Re: TX: College Station Stand off at a bar
Is there any recourse for a business when the PD destroys the building and causes then to suspend operations? The guy may or may not have anything to do with this business... he could have just gone in an open door.
Just curious.

Probably the same recourse a homeowner has when the PD conducts a no knock raid based upon poor intelligence and finds nothing to charge the homeowner with....none.
