Although this homeowner was not vigilant by leaving their garage door open this could have ended a lot different had they not had a gun. The guy had shot at the police and car jack a SUV and found an open garage door after crashing.

According to neighbors, the homeowner told them the suspect, who was armed with a knife, came into the home through the garage door.

The homeowner then reportedly got a gun, pointed it at the intruder, and told him to get out.

The suspect then left the home and was taken into custody after he went back into the home's garage.

The latest appears the man exchanged gun fire with the police inside the home.

“And so my neighbor opened the door, he said he had the gun pointed at the perpetrator and that’s when the police and the gunman exchange gunfire,” he said. “All of a sudden we heard three loud gunshots, so we all ran inside.”

Northghanistan. Another abject failure of the city of Dallas.
