Morocco is where the two young European females were recently killed while on vacation. It was considered the only “safe” place to visit in Africa.

Very sad.
Yeah they were killed near Mt. Toubkal base camp. We climbed Mt. Toubkal when we were there last and this was a shock to us since everyone in the nearby town of Imlil and the other villages seemed very nice. In fact, due to Morocco's past of being colonized by France and Spain it has a great European flair to it.

Now the homeless and vagrant ISIS sympathizers are terrorizing the tourist areas and making it a scary proposition to visit. I hope they get a handle on it because I would love to go back someday. Otherwise a very scenic, unique, and extraordinary country.

Don't paint a whole continent based on exceptional events in one, two, or a handful of countries.

Everyone who can should visit Africa if they have any desire to see it, just book your travel with reputable people and make sure security is provided throughout the trip. You can also book "trip insurance" that includes not just your travel costs but also guarantees you safety. There are companies that will deploy armed teams to get you out of any imaginable predicament and fly you back to the US to the hospital of your choice if needed.

The worst thing about visiting Africa (especially hunting) is that it is incredibly addictive.

In truth I'm not likely to go, but I'd love to tour the Okavango Delta and have thought Botswana pretty safe. Is it not?

Arnold does not press charges. Wants his attacker to get his life together.

Turns other cheek in other words.

That and he doesn’t want to return two or three times to testify.

Africa! I have no desire to visit the metropolitan areas of America, including those in Texas.

South African tourists injured when their tour bus is bombed near the Pyramids in Egypt.

From the frying pan to the fire.

I’d like to visit Egypt some day, but doubt I will ever be that brave.

I don't know, sounds kinda like a US Military recruitment poster. :cheers2:

Beautiful picture of Africa.

Shame it’s how it is.

Sorry didn’t realize it was apparently edited, so I don’t know how real it is or how much it resembles reality.

Just got back from Uganda today, mission trip in the north at a vocational school. Had a great experience and made some great friends. Depending on where you go, you have to be prepared to rough it, protect from mosquitoes. Otherwise it’s a beautiful country and nice people.

I still dream of having a real 1-week African safari hunt, where my trophies would be boxed and shipped home.

Cape Town South Africa may become the most dangerous city in the world if the murder rate continues this year. 55 people killed in one weekend. That may even have gun free Chicago beat.

I would say fire arm ownership is restrictive, but not impossible.
