A 13-year-old has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of Barnard College freshman Tessa Majors in a New York City park, according to multiple senior law enforcement officials.

The teen faces charges of second-degree murder, robbery and a weapons-related charge, the officials said. His specific role in the death was not immediately clear.

The juvenile was apprehended at about 11 p.m. Thursday, and as of Friday was not being charged as an adult.

Investigators are seeking two other people whom they believe had a role in the attack.

Majors, 18, was stabbed repeatedly in Morningside Park, not far from Barnard's campus, before 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the New York Police Department.

In one interview about her firearm stance she said something like, "Look, I'm 5-foot nothing and have four children. You bet I'm going to be armed and know how to use it."

The DiBlasio administration has handcuffed the NYPD, and there is no way Tessa Majors--even if she weren't just 18--would ever get a carry permit in NYC. A sickening loss of a young life.

“As an avid feminist, I have striven towards bridging my community gender divide by being outspoken in my classes, taking an intensive course on social justice, and campaigning for a congressional candidate. A tragedy, but it's people who think like her that have created the environment in NYC. It's doubtful that she would have carried a handgun for self defense even had she been old enough and somehow fortunate enough for NYC to care about her safety and issue a carry permit.

According to the article, a friend or acquaintance of hers said she was there to buy weed. It really should not matter concerning the charges. Hopefully they catch the little animal who did the stabbing before he kills someone else.
