Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots
I prepped four faxes with different content. The message is the same, but I want it to be obvious that I'm not sending a "canned" fax, that I feel strongly about this issue.
The first went out this morning. I figure it won't do any good to send a fax May 2 while they're in session...

HB681 is still a long way from coming to the floor. SB655 (Railroad Commission sunset bill) is taking a huge amount of time.TxA wrote:Any update from today's session???

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots
I received an alert this evening from the NRA stating the obvious (delayed due to other legislation) and asking me to contact my representative tomorrow and "let him or her know how important it is to you and fellow NRA members that this bill pass this session."
Last time I sent an email, this time the fax.
If this keeps up, Rep. Crownover (Myra) and I will be on a first name basis.

I tried sending him an email once and it was rejected. Maybe he just doesn't want to communicate.Jasonw560 wrote:Every time I try to fax Eddie (Lucio) the Third, it's either busy of it rings 5 times without answering.Paragrouper wrote:

What does "5/3/2011 H Laid on the table subject to call" mean for this bill?

Not yet. See the link above for the next phases it has to go through before it hits the Gov's desk.dac1842 wrote:Now shows passed the House as amended! Next stop the Governor's desk!

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots
Next step is back to the Senate to give them the chance to concur on the changes made in the House. If they agree, it goes to the governor. If not, it will go to the conference committee to work out a compromise, which will then need to be voted on (just up or down, no debate) by both houses before it goes to the governor.dac1842 wrote:Next stop the Governor's desk!

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots
Question for more experienced folks than I am. Once the Bill is back in the Senate for confirmation of any amendments, do they have a timeframe when something has to be done? Can the bill get stalled there?
Thanks
Mike

I'm not sure what they are planning to do today, but SB 321 is listed on the Senate Calendar for today: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/ ... navpanes=0
