Just got a call from my FFL. It's ready for pickup. Now to wait for my workday to end. Anyone have one of those machines that speed up the clock?

Okay, haven't shot it yet, but it feels GREAT in my hand. Plan is to go to the range after work today.

My Shield .45 came in today. Very good shooter. I only used the extended mag, and not the flat base, but it is not as stout as I would have thought. With 200 gr ammo, about the same as 9mm +P (the gun is slightly heavier than the 9mm version). With 230 gr, a little more, but still considerably less than a snub-nosed .357. Also very accurate.

Right out of the box, with just a little oil, I ran 60 rounds through it, with no malfunctions at all. It also fits my 9mm holsters. :thumbs2:

For all of you new Shield .45 owners, here is a holster on sale. It's back ordered on the Desantis site and priced $33 higher.

OK, fired my new .45 Shield another 125 rounds. It has now gone 185 rounds (200 and 230 gr) without a single jam or malfunction of any kind. I used ammo from Sellier & Bellot and Freedom Munitions, all FMJ. HP tests to follow.

After 100 rounds the aggressive texture on the backstrap began to rub me the wrong way, but that would not normally be a problem. There is very little difference in control between the flat base mag and the extended mag.
