Is there somewhere in the DFW area to get certified to teach NRA courses such as home defense, basic handgun courses etc?

Check out the NRA Instructors website: http://www.nrainstructors.org/searchcourse.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Umm? The zip code search function isn't working, but search in Texas and you will see some courses.

Also check out advanced training in the forum topics

Try HD Boar. Took my NRA pistol certification last November. They are in Red Oak.
Mike Dikovitsky is a great instructor and coach.

Good Luck.
