IWB deep carry in hospital scrubs?

#1

Post by Kevo »

Let me start by saying sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I couldn't find it. I have my EDC IWB holster for plain clothes, but I'm looking for something that works in elastic/drawstring style pants. I've seen the SmartCarry "belly-band" style holsters, but I'm seeing if any of you have had experience with anything else. Also, I carry either a XDs 4" .45, or a 4.25" barrel Colt Combat Commander 1911 (both right around 7" overall length). Thanks in advance.

Other than the belly band or something like a fanny pack, I'm not sure how you would securely carry a gun that size with elastic or drawstring pants. When I carry with gym shorts on, I carry my LCP with an IWB clip holster clipped over the waistband of my underwear and my shorts. It isn't the most comfortable thing, but it works well enough for the small amount of time I wear those types of clothes each week. If I had to do so for more time each week, I would probably get a fanny pack and just deal with the snickers. Sorry I'm not more help.

I've actually used my alien gear v1 leather holster and my girl's Betty Holster with my Shield. I typically take a moment to get my drawstring as tight as I can, THEN slide the holster in. I've gone for extended walks like this w/o any problems.

Of course, my shorts don't have pockets, so I had nothing else weighing on it (phone/wallet/spare mags/etc) along with the holster/pistol. It worked fine though.

This looks like it might be a good holster for your application it has a built in velcro secured belt. I haven't tried it nor even seen one, but it looks like it would work pretty good for your requirements. http://www.brshooting.com/product/braveholster/

There is a review here.http://www.usacarry.com/brave-response-holster-review/

Check out a product called "Ulti Clip". I've seeb photos of people using them in scrubs. I have never personally used them but it may be worth looking at.

Good luck! :txflag:

Lcp with a p3at pocket clip. It's a gun for when you can't have a gun.

Any holster that uses the ulticlip.
I have several from Cook's Holsters like Ulticlip IWB Holster for my Shields (.40) and Kahr P380.
Use it for my cycling and gym shorts.

Ankle holster. But you might want to get a smaller and lighter gun for this or most any of the above recommendations.
