There has been no media description of her handgun.

Since she put a round into his face near his right eye, but did not kill him, IMHO
her caliber was too small.

And a +1 for "I should have emptied the whole clip". She would have saved all future
victims of his from becoming crime victims.

But at least she tagged him enough to stop something worse from transpiring.

Arms discourage and keep the invader in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property...
Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of them.

I'm happy it worked out for the woman and her children but it's generally a bad idea to leave small children alone in a car with a loaded gun.
God, grant me serenity to accept the things I can't change
Courage to change the things I can
And the firepower to make a difference.

It was a 9mm.

Beyond that I don't know if it was a JHP or what you, but it was big enough to do significant damage and there's no guarantee this dirtbag will survive...

Shot in the face is not the same as shot in the brain. However, in this case it was enough to stop him from running off with her and the kids.

Maybe this is a good reminder that one shot stopping power is never a guarantee. I use to think the "T" zone was drop em territory. Not so sure about that now. :fire :fire :fire
