Ironically enough, my wife just gave me grief for carrying during a barbeque at my house. My daughter is headed back to college today, so I decided to smoke a brisket for her on Sunday. My wife took a picture of me carving up the meat, and posted it to Facebook, where she immediately got comments because my 1911 was visible on my hip. She asked if I really needed to carry all the time. I think this story helps to answer that question.
Same here. Wife been giving me grief.

But I showed her some of the news stories posted here in the Houston thread and she changed her tune. Specifically the attempted kidnapping for ransom and this BBQ story.
On a similar note, wife was taking out the trash last night through the open garage. She noticed a car slow down, stop, turn around and start pulling into our driveway.
She went immediately inside to:
A) ask me if I was expecting someone
B) grab a gun
I think she's starting to get into the right mindset! :)
And btw, it was a friend who stopped by to pick something up last night which I failed to tell her ahead of time. But I applaud her SA and decision making.
