Don’t interrupt a man while he’s crabbing with his wife.

Killed him with his handgun he got from his car.

Opelousas unmarked police car and his rifle recovered for Louisiana police.

Drove a 150 miles in a stolen police car to try and rob Texans.

Fake News. The four people that watch CNN know that there are no good guys with guns.

Sounds like happy ending! :txflag:

And to think there are people who would wish this Texan to have been unarmed...

Well done by the crabber.

Seems to me I see A lot of articles that are not obvious good-guy-with-a-gun stories from the headline nor from the first paragraph.

Searching on “robber shot” often uncovers ggwag stories.

This article notes that The guy who stole the police car was not the focus of the narcotics investigation at the Motel 6. He apparently just saw his opportunity and he took it. Maybe he didn’t realize that he was not the focus of the Motel 6 operation.

Also according to the article the crabbers both had “concealed handgun licenses”. The woman was slightly injured on one arm, possibly from flying glass.

Port Arthur police detective Mike Hebert:
“What a nightmare it must have been,” he said. Every other Port Arthuran loves Pleasure Island. Med-County, Beaumont loves to come to Pleasure Island. I’m sure it certainly was an initial shock to them, the husband who defended his wife. It was very heroic.”

Once Port Arthur police complete their investigation, it will be turned over to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Port Arthur officials said that they do not anticipate any arrests.

Pleasure Island seems a pretty out of the way place.

Was this BG just looking for some people in an out of the way place to rob?

Probably was low on gas?

Handgun vs an AR rifle.

I guess our hero was accurate as well as brave.
