HB635 Pre-Filed creates Texas as a Gun Sanctuary State

#1

Post by von Clausewitz »

Rep Matt Krause of Fort Worth has pre-filed a bill that would prevent state and local law enforcement from assisting federal law enforcement from carrying out the Democrat’s stated “gun control” agenda should it become law.
The bill would prohibit state agencies and law enforcement officers from having “contract with or in any other manner provide assistance to a federal agency or official with respect to the enforcement of a federal statute, order, rule, or regulation purporting to regulate a firearm, a firearm accessory, or firearm ammunition if the statute, order, rule, or regulation imposes a prohibition, restriction, or other regulation, such as a capacity or size limitation or a registration requirement, that does not exist under the laws of this state.”

This Texas legislation would make it near impossible for the feds to enforce a bill like HR 5717, which if enacted, would make law...
...all imaginable gun-control regulations, including national gun registration, federal firearms license, ban on semiautomatic rifles, magazine ban, “Red Flag” gun confiscation, a 30% gun tax, an a 50% ammo tax, gun-storage requirements, more no-gun zones, and much more

It’s too bad it wouldn’t prohibit federal law enforcement from carrying out the Democrat plan.

There’s not enough federal LEOs to cover the state of Texas by themselves...

I know. It’d just be a nice symbolic effort since they wouldn’t abide by it, anyway.

There's not enough feds to cover my county. They underestimate rural America.

Too bad it doesn't get rid of Texas's 2nd Amendment violations. SBR's, Machine Guns, etc. If we could become a sanctuary state for firearms and repeal the NFA items in Texas's laws, that would be awesome.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

Unfortunately, unless manufacturers want to lose their federal licenses, no one would be able to manufacture, any NFA firearms, for Texans. The same would be true for distributors, and retail sellers.
