Pulled over for speeding, Plano

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Being courteous works 99.999% of the time.
Where did the idea of placing your keys on the roof come from?

Boy, I tell you. A U.S citizen for less than a month and already a law breaker. What’s next. Illegal u-turns.

Sorry Andy, couldn’t help myself. :cheers2: glad it worked out for you.

Just as a technicallity, I-75 goes nowhere near Texas. U.S. 75 goes through Plano.

I see that place but never stepped inside.
I hope all good folks live there.

I never understand why some leo wants to know where you are going? Is that relevant?

I guess it could be if you said you were going by a brothel to deliver some (insert drug of choice).

It's not relevant at all but it's a trained ice breaker for the fishing trip... if you refuse to answer it, they can step into high gear pretty quick.

(before anyone accuses me of bashing, that is almost verbatim from several different leo's I have asked)

I like that Idea if a roof is flat enough. Neither of our vehicles would hold them. Dash board would work for me though.
Good idea. I like it.

Mine has push button start, so if I threw my key fob up on the roof, the car would probably still start.

But it's the thought that counts. Maybe I'll try that next time I have to talk with John Law.

I tried this one time on a Lewisville LEO: "I hear that some officers give warnings to every 10th vehicle they stop.
Am I #10 for you today?"

He shook his head no and he then gave me a citation. Rats, as our friend Charlie Brown would say.

I wouldn’t try that in Carrollton. From their rep it might more like every 10,000 or 100,000 if at all. And from what a lawyer told me the judges rubber stamp their citations and don’t believe any challenges.

Basically, they told me that I was attached to another object by an incline plane wrapped helically around an axis and to just pay the fine and do deferred adjudication.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

They really do watch the speed on the service road in that section of hwy, I can vouch for that.
