Houston LGS recommendations

Post by gigag04 »

Haven't bought a non-blue label handgun in quite some time. Longtime friend had two guys try to break into his home in the Heights last night at 2 am. HPD told him to buy a gun and shoot them next time (love that btw...).

Where is a best place to get his hands on a few striker fired polymers that doesn't charge Gander mountain prices?

Give Marburgers a call (281) 474-3229

They're located in Sea Brook.

They aren't always the lowest cost, but many times they are.

I've bought a number of guns from them.

Thanks for the quick reply. A bit far for us, I'm on the north side, and my buddy is in the Heights. We're looking inside the beltway.

My first thought was collector's...

Houston Gun Shop
8023 FM 1960 East (FM1960 East and Pinehurst in Atascocita)

They have a good selection. Best prices I've found since being here.

You may want to give Carter's Country a try. I bought two guns from them. They have several stores in the area.

Collector's is pretty expensive.

Collectors have some great guns but the prices are at the top end. Honestly if price is a big concern Academy can be a pretty good location. Limited selection but good prices if you buy on sale and they always have something on sale changing every week.

I like to browse Carter's Country, but their prices were so far above everyone else that it was cheaper to order from Bud's and pay the FFL fee. Still saved about $40.

I don't really like Academy. Takes 4 people to look over the 4473, then they have to call the manager to approve it. The irony is not one of them really know what they're doing. Just me though.

Tomball Pawn or Spring Guns and Ammo might be good options.

Our own USA1 works at a gun store(or did at one time) in Tomball. He said many a time they have great prices. I wish I could think of the name of the gun store.

I sure do miss that guy. He's been MIA for a long time. :cryin

The only gun store I know of (or can think of at the moment) in Tomball is Tomball Pawn. I suppose Academy counts as a gun store too...

Along with the other suggestions, you might check out Shiloh Shooting Range. They are near FM 249 and FM 1960. Nice bunch of people, too.
