First Kydex OWB 1911 mag holder

Post by cmgee67 »

Been wanting a 1911 mag pouch that’s easy on and off. It’s not very pretty but it’s got very good retention and works. The belt clip slides over the belt and hooks on the bottom. So it slides between the inside of the belt and the outside of the pants. Very secure and stays put. Doesn’t come off when mag is drawn. I made the mouth of the carrier wide so it’s very easy to funnel the mag down into the pouch just like a flared mag well works on a pistol. I put a bullet in the mag when I formed it so that it is not being pushed on or squeezed while in the holster. Not to mention if you form without a round in the mag then when you load it and stick it in the holster it will not work correctly. It works with an empty mag as well so when I’m at the range I can change mags and not have to set one down. I don’t like iwb mag carriers but I do like the ease of how they come in and out so I reveresed it I guess you’d say. My holster is black and so is my belt but my shirt will be covering this so it doesn’t matter. Thought I’d share.
