C&R question

C&R question
On the form, there's applicant's address and mailling address.
If I use my C&R license to get dealer's cost from such as MidwayUSA, which address does MidwayUSA send their catalog and stuff to?
Which address is shown on the license? Applicant's address and mailing address?
I don't want any distributor to have my home address.

Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

I don't want anything to be sent to my home address. No mail, no nothing.
I only plan to use C&R to get cheaper stuff from Midway.

Midway (and the others) will send your stuff wherever you ask for it to be sent.
If you buy any C&R guns, some sellers will hesitate to send them to an address other than the one on your license, but it is permissible to do so.
I don't know about your taste in guns, but remember that you have to maintain a "bound book" listing all C&R firearms you acquire or dispose of while licensed (not "with your license", but while licensed). That means anything that is on "the list", or anything that is 50 years old or older.
No need to enter anything you already own, unless you dispose of it. And you do have to log A&D even if the ownership doesn't change, such as when you send it to a gunsmith for work, or pawn it, etc.

I've held a C&R License for several years, and I think collecting and shooting old military weapons is pretty dang cool. The discounts, for me, are a nice by-product.
To specifically answer your question:
Your C&R License requires your full mailing address, and it's printed on the license. By definition, anyone you send your C&R License to will have your "official" mailing address. If you don't want vendors, etc. to have your mailing address, you shouldn't send them a signed copy of your license.
As to Midway: Midway will send catalogs and other things to whatever address you ask them to send them to, not just to the address on your license. It is, of course, possible for them to send to your "official" mailing address, because they have the C&R license on file. If you absolutely, positively can't afford to have something sent to that address, see my comment above.
Note: If you've moved recently, within the last 5 years, you'll put other addresses on your application for a FFL 03 (Curio and Relic) to the BATF. This is a great link detailing how to get your C&R: http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting200 ... /index.asp
P.S. - Don't be tricky on the application, they do a pretty significant background check.

Sorry. There are two addresses on the license. The most prominent is the mailing address, which is whatever you want it to be. The second is the "premises address", which is the address "where the collecting activity takes place"; i.e., your physical address.Stupid wrote:My question is not answered. :-(

I have no problem for ATF to have my home address, but I do NOT want any vendor to have it.
My home address and my mailing address are different.
My question really is on the license, which address is shown? Mailing address or home address?
Another thing, who is the CLEO in Harris county?

Then before you send a copy to a vendor, black it out.Stupid wrote:I have no problem for ATF to have my home address, but I do NOT want any vendor to have it.
I just answered that in my previous post: both.My question really is on the license, which address is shown? Mailing address or home address?
I have a Midway account...they are a top notch outfit, and there is nothing to lose with them having your correct address, and I do not suffer for it(nor does anybody else)...it just sounds like for some unknown reason you are complicating the otherwise simple process. Black helicopters? or wife that will beat you up for ordering stuff?
I have run into this working in gunshops...to the point when ask what their address was they gave me 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington D.C.
(and I showed them the door)

I am very particular about my home address and phone number. I am not going to the details on privacy stuff, which you can read somewhere else.
The biggest concern is safety.
