Great Read - Saved By A Gun

#1

Post by ghentry »

This is a true story of a family that was defended by their husband/father. It is a very long read and very intense, but worth your time.

This is old, but it was the first time I've seen it.

Very good story. Thanks for posting it! I've read about this before, and it just burned into my mind.

An officer had Doug lay on the street. Doug was then hand cuffed, searched, and moved to a kneeling position behind one of the police cars and sat on his feet. The police then had Judy and the children come out with their hands up.
Is this normal procedure in this type of situation, home defense?

That irritated me too, however, if the wife's call was the fifth call they received, the officers didn't know what exactly was happening other than a volley of gunfire. I can see why they would respond the way they did.

Remember, that was Ohio. Texas COPS would slap you on the back, say "Great shooting," and give you some replacement ammo!

I'm obviously kidding! I rather doubt you'd experience the nose-in-the-asphalt treatment, but the officers would certainly make sure they knew who was who before they turned their back on you.

Regards,
Chas.

For a long time this scenario was the baseline for my home defense plan. My preparations all had this scenario in mind.

Unlike the Stantons, I wouldn't plan to leave home. I'd hole up and wait.
