I just bought a Finnish sheath knife by Marttini. It's scary sharp.

Why did I buy it?

Because I've always been concerned if I take a spill on one of my bike rides while being attacking by dogs, I may not be able to get to my Glock 19, (It's in a zippered pack) but on my other side has been a Spyderco Endura clip it.

It would however take some maneuvers to get it into action too. Time I may not have...

The problem?

It takes ages to get the new knife out of it's sheath. I bought the darn thing for immediate access...

If, I can figure out a way to make it come into play quickly, like right immediately now great I'm thinking kydex. However, I see no scabbards fitting this description.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I like the kydex idea and there's lots of Utube clips showing how it's done. Good luck and post some progress pics if you decide to go that route. :thumbs2:

:iagree:

YouTube has a lot of great Kydex demonstrations and it isn't terribly labor intensive to do.

Made me a gun vise this weekend to go with my new 783, granted it's not finished. Not sure what exactly what to do with the blue batwing yet. I need to wrap it in felt still

Nice gun vice! Do you also have the blue material on the butt-stock clamps?

Perhaps an enhancement: cut a groove in the base board and mount the butt-stock clamp with a wing nut so you can loosen and slide to accommodate different guns?

Looks great regardless! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I used furniture sliders that have foam built into them so I can clamp almost anywhere. The vise end I drilled 24 holes total & used T nuts in them all, the adjustments are every 2". I put some thought into it but not a whole lot.

I see the holes in the board now. Great Job! :hurry:

Added this to my bench. Picked up almost all the loading equip this weekend. Cabelas had a sale this past week. Mounted the wood to the bench to be removed so my wife can use it for her painting.

Not sure if I've posted this here before, but here was my idea: $4 harbor freight tool magnet on the underside of the shelf for storing mags. I am still looking for a polymer magnet to do this with the AR mags :) .

Cheers!

My DIY bedside mount: I already had the RH holster, LH mag pouch and the flashlight holder. The actual mounting material (glue, L-brackets and pieces of remnant wood) cost around $10 at Home Depot. It is sturdy and functional. I am pretty happy with the set up.

I fIrst used the RH mag pouch and noticed it mounted the mag backwards

Luckily, I had a LH mag pouch laying around the home
