Hmmm, this is a tough one. I'm not as bad as Philip964, but am a little. Even if I've emptied and checked the gun 2-3-4 times, I still can't point it at myself or anyone else.

I also do what Salty1 does. This is one training thing I've done to learn to acquire my sights with both eyes open. I usually do this at least 2 times a day.

Possibly the quirkiest thing I do that a non-firearm person would find odd is that I don't clean all my guns after every range trip. They might find that odd if they think that they must be cleaned every time after being used. Some guns I do clean after each trip to the range, but not all of them. Heck, some of you guys will also find that odd.

I don't clean my AR's after every time after I shoot them, but I ALWAYS clean my pistols after shooting them.

Everything that I do serves a specific purpose. I don't consider any of it quirky. And since non gun owners would be baffled by the notion of owning a gun all that goes with it, I'd have to answer both everything and nothing.

I randomly " shadow shoot " dove. And, just like real life, I usually take two shots at the same imaginary bird.

Same here. Head on a swivel. I'm always watching who is coming & going. I watch the exit's & what is between me & it. I watch other peoples body language & demeanor.

When out in public, I wonder how many other people are carrying. I also go window shopping for firearms and look to see if anyone else doing the same is carrying. (By checking for printing)

Usually after watching a movie with firearms in it, I head over to http://www.imfdb.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Internet Movie Firearms database)
and look up all the guns used in the movie to see how many I identified correctly.

I pay attention to firearms in movies as well and have seen flaws like where the actor actually uses two different firearms in the same scene

ME TOO!!! My wife is usually impressed at how many I get correct. She claims I looked them up before.

Every time I re-aquire or store my duty gun, I always drop the mag, clear the chamber, and do a function check. Even if I left my gun in my truck to run into some place, and I come back, I do it. I go into a secured facility, I empty, function test, place in box, when I come back out, I function test then reload. I'm paranoid I guess, my wife doesn't say anything when I get home, go to my safe, unload, function test, then reload a mag before locking it away. I'm not sure if it's because I'm afraid it won't cycle, or that somebody tampered with it. I never understood, but I can't stand blindly holstering up without checking it first. :willynilly:
