What was under your Christmas tree this year?

My wife is awesome. She has bought me a few nice guns over the years, and this year, she out-did herself.

She received a call from Jaime at our favorite LGS here in west Houston, and he told her that he had something that hit all my buttons, so on Christmas morning, I received a beautiful Argentinean Army-issue 1911.

Hits all the buttons because (a) I've been interested in trying out a 1911, (b) my wife was born and raised in Argentina, and (c) I was US Army, so I appreciate that it was an army-issue (even from a different country).

Per the serial number, this one was built in 1952.

On the right side of the slide is this stamp:
D.G.F.M. - (F.M.A.P)

On the left side is this stamp:
EJERCITO ARGENTINO
SIST. COLT CAL 11.25 MOD 1927

I took it out to the range today, and it shot great. I had a few FTF issues, but I changed my grip, and all was good.

I sent 150 rounds downrange, and had a great time.

I did have a bit of a sore thumb when it was all done. You can see the photo below where part of my hand was left on the hammer where it extends below the tail of the gun.

My wife didn't get me a firearm this year but...

I have been talking with my wife about joining the NRA since I realized the importance of it after joining the forum. My wife surprised me with a membership as well as an NRA shot glass, since I collect them, as well as an NRA tactical bag.

My step dad even donated an academy gift card to my bullet fund found the ammo I like on sale too.

My wife is awesome.

My wife doesn't buy me guns and I don't buy her clothes/shoes. We both know exactly what we want so we buy for ourselves in those departments. She did get me a beautifully bound copy of The Federalist Papers which was a pretty cool gift! She knows me well!

Sig 226 air pistol with 90 CO2 cartridges and 1000 pellets. A cheap and easy way to shoot in the neighborhood as our HOA has an air gun/BB/archery range. And a holster for M&P Shield.

She got 1000 .22 rounds under the tree.

My wife is slowly coming around on me and my love of guns which got reignited this year with my LTC course.

I have an Amazon.com wishlist that I have created for gun related items (the Amazon Assistant browser extension allows you to add things that aren't on Amazon), so it's perfect for varying gun sites and online retailers for those sorts of things. She looked through it and saw the guns I had listed there, but on Christmas day I got a lovely card with this inside:

I love you. Now go buy a gun.

I turned around and bought myself a pocket gun today after the check got deposited. I ordered a stainless S&W Pro 642 revolver cut for moon clips on Buds Gun Shop. It's gonna be my grocery store, quick trip, go to the mailbox gun.

I have other pocket guns on my Amazon wishlist that could be for this use that I will get later - like the Sig P938 and the Kahr C/PM9 - but I don't currently have any 9mm ammo (I don't currently have a 9mm pistol). I do however have tons of .38 special from another gun in my collection already, so as soon as I get the new S&W it will start to eat that and some +P.

My AR got some bling, Bushnell TRS red dot, Hogue butt stock, Tactical Link QD sling mount, a dedicated AR cleaning kit. I also got a Work Sharp knife sharpener, that got well tested Christmas day. And a Case sea horse whittler pocket knife.

Jusme Jr. got a Mossberg 500 with 18.5 inch barrel to use as a trunk gun.

Mrs. Jusme got some sparkly rock and shiny metal trinkets that she seemed to like.

I think the best part was watching the grandkids open presents from Santa,
