Top handguns in your opinion?

#1

Post by cmgee67 »

Excluding 1911s :reddevil

My favorite hand guns to shoot are SA revolvers like my Ruger vaquero in 357 mag. My favorite carry guns are my 45 shield and glocks. I say glocks because a Glock is a Glock lol.

I don’t really believe there is a Top handgun because that’s only based on opinion but what do y’all say.

We really need to bifurcate this into two categories, top carry gun and top range gun.

For me, top carry handgun is Glock 19. Too many reasons why to even start listing them all.

My top range gun would be Colt Gold Cup 1911, which leads me kicking myself to this day for selling it :banghead:

However, IF I had to choose between those two, I’d go with Glock 19.

I think getting rid of a Colt gold cup is punishable by death in some countries

One question I have for 1911 aficionados.... I seem to remember Gold Cups (Series 80) going for $800+ even 30 years ago...but I seem to remember Kimbers being cheap and considers by Colt fans to be way inferior. Were Kimbers lousy and they just got better? Or were they always good. Seems now they are considered premium guns.

In my experience with Kimbers they have always been really nice, accurate, and beautiful pistols. But what I have heard from a lot of people is you either get a good one or not. I have never owned a colt and I don’t really plan on it because of the price inflation because of the name. I can’t seem to make myself pay for it. I will say they do make quality guns. I would buy a Kimber over a Colt if I was given the money right now today tho.

For EDC CCW Glock AINEC

Pretty well the same for long guns....reliablity first....

I have Saiga 308's that will shoot far better than i am capable of....and they are the Glocks of long guns....eat anything and they go bang...

The hawgs don't know it....they are just makin...bacon....

Still have my Remington 788 in 308 that is now 40+ yr old as well as Belgium made Light 12....

But for handguns.....Glock and it's not even close for 2nd...
