It's not just flat brimmed caps, it's tucking ears inside them too. Also, I admit the square toed boots are probably comfortable, they just look ridiculous. What about just tucking your shirt in to show the belt buckle?

Gun related would be the used prices matching or exceeding new prices. Especially in local shops. One shop has a used Walther P99c for a Benjamin plus more than a H&K VP9.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

The thing is second ammendent rights and the right to defend and protect are civil rights traditionally what the left is sensitive too. It's about the right of women to defend themselves, The rights of the poor, and protection against a mob. The ability to protect our children. The right to defend ourselves should not be bipartison, and we should be trying to get them on our side for this one issue. Thoughout history we have swung from liberal to conservative and back again. If the right to bear arms remains a Republican issue only, we are destined to lose these rights that have taken so long to gain.
I don't have any leftist friends. They are family, not friends. Your leftist "friends" are the ones that want to have government control all aspects of our lives, from cradle to grave. The mandate in Obama care was part of it. The purpose of the 2ndA is to protect us from government. I don't know any leftist that wants to protect us from government, they only want to control us more. Sure it's great that we can defend ourselves from criminals but the greatest threat is government and the biggest killer of humanity is government.

I really don't care what shoe style any forum members wear. I must really be getting old and cranky.

In that case, you don't want to be anywhere near my daughter's high school during testing weeks. Some of them even bring blankets. I'm not sure what for, but I've seen them hauling them in.

Not all leftist are created equal. Not all are dogmatic idealist. We will never convert all of them to understand our right to protect ourselves. But if we can win over a few to keep us in the majority, we will win the main game at least on this issue. I am starting to wear my age, my best fighting years are behind me. As the years wear own it will become even more so. The battle that I am fit to fight is the one of ideology, philosophy and political. Winning people over to our side would be the most satisfactory win. Keeping our government and our rights is surely better than having to fight for them. These days of bipartisanship and division make the possibilities bleak.

I retired 2 years ago and traded in my steel-toed shoes for Birkenstocks, yeah, the hippie shoes. Don't really care if people like them or not. I get to choose. I like 'em and that is all that matters.

People who insist on using obscure acronyms in their postings, ostensibly to make themselves appear more intelligent, at least in their own mind...

When I can buy a new one for a little more, I'm not going to touch a used one. For me, it would take a steep discount to even consider buying someone else's problems.

I bought my first pistol from my wife's aunt, who was recently widowed. All others have been new. Good deals are easy to find.

oljames3,

I second that!

If it's used and someone wants a couple of bucks less than new, no thanks.

I'll buy new every time..

Pickup trucks getting so expensive the dealers have to offer 72 month financing.

Socialist wealth distribution becoming the new normal. e.g. child tax credits

22LR ammunition that costs as much as surplus 9mm used to cost.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

On the used gun pricing, I think the challenge is that a lightly used gun doesn't really have all that much of a loss in utility compared to a new gun. I have bought a lot of new guns, and I have bought a lot of used guns. Maybe I am just lucky, but I have never bought a "lemon" or "problem" gun used. All of my problem guns have been bought new (and those have been the exception, not the rule). When you also consider that used guns have typically been broken in already, the utility difference is even less. The lack of sales tax / FFL fees comes into play here as well.

But I do agree that some people can get a little cray cray (to use one of my teenage daughters phrases) when pricing their guns. These tend to be folks who over paid when they bought the gun new, and they are asking 95% of what they paid. As a result, they are asking more for their used gun than I can pay Buds or Grabagun for a new one.

When buying or selling a used gun, I typically add up the CURRENT retail price for the gun and all accessories (ignoring sales tax and FFL fees), then multiply that by 80% - 90% depending on condition, age, and round count. To me, that is a fair price. Others may disagree. Also, I would personally never sell a gun that I have had issues with unless I disclosed the heck out of it. My reputation is more important to me than making a few bucks more on a gun sale.
