DD AR 15 has an ambi safety that gets in my way. I don it see a single safety for DD on their web sight. Has anyone changed these out and how hard are they to do?

I just installed a different brand on my son's ar15 we built. I'm pretty sure it will function as left side only if you just unscrew it and remove the switch on the right side. If not, it is fairly easy to replace the safety selector by removing the grip.

Although, after looking closely at your picture, I'm not sure if your grip is integrated with the trigger guard?

The only hard part, if you’re going to remove the grip, is to do it in such a way that your spring and detente don’t pop out and get lost. One way to ensure it is to simply do the work inside of a large bag like a dry-cleaner’s bag or something, so that if/when those tiny parts come flying out, they will be contained by your workspace instead of being lost in the lint behind your couch.

Don’t ask me how I know this.

PS: it’s always a good idea to either have a small parts kit or spare LPK laying around just in case....something like this: https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product ... ory=485306

I use a safety that has one side shorter than the other. As a result, the right side lever does not interfere with me shooting. A lefty can put the short lever on the left side for the same result.

The link has a video that gives a short, but simplified, explanation of how easy it is to install.

Did you check to see if you can buy a screw extractor that is small enough?

I tried it. It did not work very well. I ended up taking a dremel cutting disk and chop it off. Paid $32 for a replacement at Cabelas.
