The only real difference is temperature stability, and, frankly, you should have a thermometer anyway (and you'd need it for both furnaces, so it's a wash in cost comparison). There's a few other small differences, but nothing that justifies the price difference.

Yes, correct.
I need a thermometer and I do use one.
I am pretty sure that the RCBS unit should have better temp. control/stability, plus is built more heavy duty.
Plus the RCBS unit has a stainless pot, where the Lee has a steel one that rusts.
But all in all, I feel the Lee is a good value and has served me very well for years.
