If you have a backup program that runs, be sure it's backing up your outlook .pst file. That's where all the outlook contacts, email etc. is stored.

That's a handy piece of information. Not that I use Outlook - I have a friend who insists on it, but doesn't have any clue where the data is stored. (I won't bad-mouth MS, but I tend to look for solutions/apps from others than them, with a few exceptions.)
