As hard as it is to admit, I will vote for Trump. I pray he does more good than harm, but I think nothing he can do would justify voting for a socialist or a woman who should be in prison.

Everyone sort of knew where they stood with Cruz. You might not like his take on things, but he was unwavering in his positions. Trump on the other hand is nothing short of an opportunistic entertainer who has little in-depth knowledge of the needs of the nation but has managed to say just the right things to his target audience. Those talking points ingratiate middle aged white guys without college experience. Otherwise, he has managed to offend, well, just about everyone else....Women, Blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, Jews, anyone with a graduate degree----what a mess. I'd suggest that the Republicans still standing should try to find a way to influence the upcoming Democratic platform. It may be the last time for awhile that they can weild any form of influence. And if there is concern about a SCOTUS packed with Liberals, remember that is was the Republican Senate who was adament about not even hearing one submission, even though the one offered was by most accounts pretty moderate in his views. The old guard Republicans have done this to themselves.

I don’t know but I believe there are also a lot of Democrats fed up with the way things are going and especially Hillary. We may see Trump elected just to spite the status quo.

At this point I don’t think Hillary, Michael Bloomberg or anyone else can do anything to institute meaningful gun control except get the U.S. public “up in arms”. Hillary could pack the Supreme Court and they could reverse the interpretation of the 2A and people would not comply. People would not comply with registration or any laws meant to take away their rights.

This would put Hillary’s administration in a position where they would have to decide how far they are willing to go to disarm the public. I don’t think they are willing to spill blood to take peoples guns. I believe it would be a rude awakening for the libs that this isn’t the UK or Australia.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

When it comes down to two people that most claim to be similar, I'd vote for the one with at least one pro-gun kid.

Chelsea ain't it, but Don Jr. is.

So that settles that for me.

Either way, this election cycle is really proving how broken the GOP is. The fact that they couldn't put up a single worthwhile candidate is telling, while it took a NY businessman to actually take a stand (real or not) and tell people what they actually wanted to hear, instead of being told what they SHOULD think.

I don't know what that does to the total democrat delegate count, but if God shows us mercy, Sanders will take the nomination, and Trump will beat the snot out of Sanders. Then we can have president Trump, and I can say "I TOLD you all what it would be like, and why I preferred Cruz to Trump!"

As of right now, we've got about 8 months to enjoy what's left of our Constitution; then we're hosed.

Do you think it will be easier for Trump to beat Sanders than to beat Clinton? RCP shows that Trump's numbers are worse against Sanders than against Clinton.

Are you thinking folks will come to their senses when they realize Sanders is a socialist? I'm not so optimistic about the American voter's wisdom. They voted for O. Twice!

Edited for missing apostrophe.

Now is time for healing to begin.
Trump has said some nice things about Ted tonight, and gave him praise for competitiveness.
I would not be surprised to hear another announcement soon where Cruz will be offered a seat in Trump WH somewhere.
Hillary and Sanders must be stopped.

Sadly, this Country has degenerated, and being a bible thumping conservative will not get you across the finish line today. As a Christian this saddens me, but I must face the reality. We need independents, we need blue collar democrats and Trump will bring them in, as he has done already.
Many folks out there (myself included) who are socially libertarian but fiscally conservative. They will vote Trump.
Many are hard line democrats who love guns and stand for our National identity.
They will vote for Trump.
Those two groups alone are now propertional majority. That's mainstream America in 2016.

Unless you want Hillary or Bernie in WH, get out and support Trump. I almost want to say to heck with them all, but I owe it to my 7 kids to put my disdain for this one or that one aside and do what I can the ensure those two commie idiots don't get it.

Trump 2016. :patriot:

Yep... I was holding out hope that for the first time in my life (I'm 37), I'd be able to vote for someone rather than merely voting against someone else.

Time to start looking at 3rd party candidates, I guess.
And the perfect way to GARUNTEE Hillary is our next POTUS. :banghead:
No! The Trumpsters do NOT get to hang that on us. You made your bed. Now you will lay in it. Trump was never going to beat Hillary, and any sentient person should have known that. He has no principles, so what on earth did you expect him to do if elected?

That's all I'm going to say on this topic, because anything else would get me banned. Don't bother responding to me, because I will not be back to respond. I'm done.

And intraparty bashing, calling those who voted for Trump "Trumpsters", what's that for?
I never referred to Cruz supporters as "Cruzsters".
I get that passions run high now, lots of disappointment for many, BUT, can we now all come together at once and put this behind, water under the bridge.
Look ahead and make the best out of the situation that you are facing.
If bashing Trumo supporters or sitting it out is the best you can do, then fine. Understand that's childish behavior.

By "you" I mean general "you", and it is not directed at anyone in particular.

Let's all calm down and keep our eyes on commie Sanders and that witch Hillary.

Note that we have an edge now, as the two on the left are still battling. This is an opportunity for us to unite.

OK, I"ll break my rule this one time. Trump just accused Ted's father of being involved in the Kennedy assassination. And now you Trumpsters blather about unity? Makes me want to puke. Unity isn't going to happen. Trust me. Trump alienated far too many people. I am not a Republican. Never have been. And I will never vote for a jerk like Trump no matter how much money you offer me. You want to blame me if he loses? Screw you. I wasn't the one who stood by while insulted every person in America who didn't support him.

America is over. It will take some of you a while to realize it. The grand experiment in freedom that good men and women died to uphold is over. Dead and gone.

Now I'm really done.

Put your hate for one or the other aside. Now is the time to beat Hillary, period. I'll take my chances with his appointees over hers any day of the week.

And I firmly believe you're kidding yourself if you think Sanders still has a snowballs chance in... Well, the Gulf of Mexico, of course. That side of the ticket has been rigged up for the last four years.

We find ourselves in the position of being enablers. The question is who do we enable?
en·a·bler

noun
a person or thing that makes something possible.
"the people who run these workshops are crime enablers"
a person who encourages or enables negative or self-destructive behavior in another.
"he criticized her role as an enabler in her husband's pathological womanizing

Too bad about Cruz. I would have been o.k. with Cruz but I was really for Kasich - most likely to beat Hillary - well qualified, well liked, plenty conservative, great experience, but apparently too establishment.

Now it's again the choice of the lesser of two evils: Trump or Hillary. Sorry but I have a hard time seeing Trump as president, even though I enjoyed watching his rallies. Sure we can hope that as president he gathers competent, knowledgeable people around him and doesn't get in the way but there are no guarantees. He knows he can say any stupid thing and get away with it. What if there are executive orders to match? The issue is predictability which he denounces. Sorry but I prefer a thoughtful, steady, predictable approach to a complicated economy and world affairs, not a hoped-for miracle worker that talks like a middle-schooler. I would also like to see a little decorum in the next president.

Even with Trump's many faults I would prefer him over Sanders who worries me even more. So now I'm realizing my dislike for Hillary is maybe not as great as I thought. I must admit she is well qualified. I actually can imagine her as president and with a Republican Congress she couldn't do too much harm, could she? Would that work?

Maybe we should wait and see who the running mates will be... :confused5

How about Trump/Cruz ticket?

I think that would be as good of a ticket as it gets. Probably won't happen, but you never know.

Just a thought, but I wonder what a Trump/Cruz ticket would do?

that actually crossed my mind a little while ago.
