I think Santa, as a mythological being, is exempt from human and natural laws.

I'm just very impressed how the CHL Division is cranking out the plastic, compared to past performance.

Sitting in my chair, getting over the flu, glance at the (permanently open) Texas DPS tab a few minutes ago:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

:clapping:

Almost makes the flu worthwhile!!

DynaBlue is miffed; she always figured we'd get them at the same time, but hers is still "Processing." I suspect my FBI report was fairly quick (those every-five-year reviews are evidently good for something!).

:waiting: :greenfrown:
May be awfully quiet around here for a day or two (or hours, I dearly hope)....

OK now I'm going to be driving the IT analyst at DPS nuts checking my status every hour :biggrinjester:

In all seriousness, I wonder if anybody runs reports at DPS on status queries - I bet it would be a hilarious report!

I am thoroughly convinced that no one cares. I would be very surprised to find that the CHL status web site was not managed by some low-cost overseas contractor.

Have to chime in, am pretty sure that the website isn't created/managed by super experienced developers. Now, if they (he/she, as it's likely a very small team) are reading this, I apologize for pointing out the flaws but hey, maybe you could fix them? :???:

Things I've noticed (and you may have too) -

-on the log in page to get to the application status - you SSN is stored in your browsers chache for that page. What does this mean to you? If *anyone* else uses your computer and accesses this page, they put the cursor in this text field and presses the 'down' key, it lists all entries ever entered for that field (which is likely only one, but that entry is *your* SSN!)
- same log in page, where you enter your SSN, this is a straight http connection *not* https (ie *not secured*). although resonably rare, anyone sniffing your web traffic (including your ISP) would be able to intercept your SSN coming across in clear text :( not good
- unlikely to affect anyone but me, but the Country drop down list (used when entering your data in the online application), it has at least one incorrectly set Country code. Australia is returning/reporting as AS not AU, so all documentation gets sent out as AS, which is actually the country code for American Samoa.

Really, i think i'm only annoyed by these issues because i'm now in the waiting room too

Welcome to the forum stevefromoz

Yes , all of those potential security risks have been brought up before .
But that doesn't keep many folks from punching in their sensitive information 5 times a day.

y'all only check it 5 times a day? ;-)

I moved to 'Processing' today, am hoping that as the FBI, USCIS and who knows which other agencies have me on file, I'll be a quick move-through!
