How to delay your application process

#1

Post by j1132s »

Ok, here's how:

1. Go take the CHL class and fill out the packet, finger print, photo, etc.
2. Log onto DPS CHL's web site to find the address to mail the application
3. Apply online (so that I can pay w/ CC and avoid a bank trip)
4. Now DSP wants to send me a _new_ application that must be sent back

Why can't they just ask me to print out those couple of pages and send back is beyond me. Wished I 'd just kept it simple and made a trip to my bank for the cashiers check.

Wait until you get the packet from DPS. It will have a red number on the front of the yellow application. If you already filled out the yellow application from your current packet, you can mark the number out on it and write the new number down from the new app DPS is sending you.

Or to avoid confusion, simply transfer the data to the new yellow application. That is the ONLY thing from the packet DPS is sending you that you need. You can use EVERYTHING else that you have already filled out.

The only issue is the number on the yellow application DPS is sending you likely is already tagged to you.

PS you could have just sent a personal check.

Txinvestigator,

Thanks for the info.

I didn't know you can send a personal check. I thought I read on the packet that it's got to be a cashier's check or money order.

Changed this last session. We still have TONS of the older packets too.

Hope it doesn't take too long

Well, I applied and paid online, and never got anything in the mail or email. The only acknowledgement was the $140 debit from my bank account.
I finally gave up and did the whole packet forms thing, and enclosed a copy of my bank statement with the debit item circled.
Awaiting results.
