PIN in today

Post by robert_de_niro »

Today I got my PIN in the mail. It still says "Processing Application" of course, but it's another step ahead of where I was... for those of you wondering the timeline is:

Sent Application: June 24

Received PIN: August 3 (40 days)

Robert,

Let me tell you how much faith I would put in that Website Status....

Got my plastic in the mail yesterday, just 85 days since I applied/paid online.
As of day 85, it still said....wait for it.... "Processing Application"

Best bet...Call.
Even then, I was told 5 weeks ago it would go out within 2 weeks.

Marshall,

Did you have any delays? I'm wondering why it took you 85 days when it is supposed to be 60.

I've had my PIN now for about a week. I'm hoping to get my license sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

'Supposed to be' and 'reality' are two different things. Times vary greatly and no one is sure of the reason. I think a lot of the variation comes from how fast the local areas report on the backround check, but this is just a guess on my part. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones who gets it in 60 days or less. Good luck.

You probably will, Rigby!
I stupidly left off the signature on the online form to allow them to charge my credit card. Which they sucessfully charged 47 days before they stopped the process and sent me a letter. ;-)

Its all good. Use the time to get your 'stuff' in order.

Yeah it's awesome how your payment clears in 4 days but the pin takes 10 times as long... oh well-what can you do?
