I completed my application on line and L1 fingerprinting prior to my CHL course which was completed on the 1/5. I sent my pack down on 1/6 it arrived 1/8 Saturday and think it was noted as recieved by the end of the the week of 1/14 . The background check was the longest item to go green. I wonder if the weather may have some staff away from the office this week ?

Online Application Completed: 1/6
Class Completed: 1/15
Mailed: 1/15
Received @ DPS: 1/18
Online Status Avail: 1/26
All Green Manufacture Pending: 1/28
Mailed: 1/29
New Shiny Plastic In Hand: 2/3

Well, I am finally impressed with a government service agency. From the day DPS got my paperwork until the license was in hand....17 calendar days and 12 business days. That is simply fantastic!!!

Well folks, you won't be seeing me over in this area of the forum for about...mmm, yep. 5 years. ;-)

Oh yes, just to add a little to all the "I wonder" thoughts that go on. DPS showed status of "mailed" on Jan 29th, however, the postage was marked (meter mail) on Feb 2nd and I actually received it on Feb 3rd (San Antonio). So...not sure what the "real" status is when they mark it "mailed".

Like I said, this is pretty useless information, but I know some of us (me being one of them) are always looking to dissect the process!

Mine was delivered 11 days ago (9 business days) and yet the website still shows "awaiting required materials."

Looks like mine will definitely be more than the 17 days above. :grumble

On average I wonder how long does it take for the background check to go green if everything else is done?

Mine was delivered mid-Jan and still don't have an update on the website. They won't answer the phone or return emails :banghead:
