Hello....My wife and I submitted all paper work and prints Jan 28 2019, and she has received her license on Feb 14th. Mine on the other hand is still under review. Granted my wife is 24 and has a clean record, she has moved quite a few times in the last 5 yrs along with multiple jobs. Im starting to think that doesnt matter too much. Me, on the other hand, 35 yrs old, has moved 3 times in 5 years, same job for 8 yrs...The only thing is I had a DUI 7 yrs ago which was reduced to Obstruction in the highway. Would that be delaying my review right now?

If you have a background with any type of charge, doesnt have to be serious, dps does a very thorough look into it, i filed mine the same day and still waiting, they told me when you have background it will take full 60 business days if not the full 180 days

I've been in "background under review" since 1/15.

I see a lot of folks with 2 weeks and shorter waiting periods. Anyone have any ideas why mine would be taking so long?

I have moved a couple times in the last 5 years, but other then moves, I have a clean background. I've had no problems purchasing, so I know my FBI backgrounds is clear. Thoughts?

Moving does slow down the process, especially if you moved across State lines. They have to wait for other States to submit any info, and some States, are not as gun friendly and get in no hurry, to send in the info. There are also things like having a similar name and DOB as a person with a shady background, that will require further scrutiny.

Thanks for the info. Today hits the 6 week mark for me, so I am hoping it's coming real soon.

In December I submitted my online application and did my finger prints. On January 30 I submitted my active duty supporting doc. On Feb 2nd I took my CHL class then submitted my LTC-100. On Feb 21 I revived my LTC in the mail.:)

I did not. It asks on the app when the date was and etc.... But nothing about sending disposition paperwork. I called. A few weeks ago and spoke to a woman and she said nothing was needed and to just wait.

Did have a misdemeanor class b for criminal trespass in 2013 for riding a dirt bike on private property.

It looks like those of us with anything on our background are getting to wait a little longer than those with clean records.

Stupid question but where are y’all finding the checklist. When I log in on the DPS website (with DL # and DOB) I don’t see anything

- Fingerprints submitted 2/21
- checklist showed up on DPS site -- background check under review 2/27
- Background check complete 2/28
- LTC print pending 2/28

that was quick, not bad.
