Prayers for Mom/Family

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Prayers for Mom/Family

#1

Post by Matto79 »

I've just started getting active on this forum, and I intend on being so for a long while.

Anyway, I would appreciate your prayers for my Mom. She has worked for AT&T for 34 years, and on Tuesday, she got "surplused." They are laying her and her department of 150 people off. She's taking it rather well, as she is a good Christian woman, but if it were me, I'd be slightly more depressed about it.

She has great belief in God and strength from him, but this event is still shocking to all of us in the family. She has options open to her as she is very smart and hard working, but to work for a company for more than half your life, and get laid off 10 years short of retirement is still hard.

I would greatly appreciate all of your prayers for her that God keep watchful eye and offer warm embraces to her, as well as vision as to what to do next. The hardest part about this is my Dad is disabled and has survived by having the excellent health insurance provided by AT&T that they now lose.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. I know the power of the Lord is great and with your help, I know he'll hear us even louder.

God Bless

...if we could do it all by ourselves, we wouldn't need Him...I could tell stories till midnight of the times things were impossible and yet God made it work out better than I even hoped...we will be praying for your family...trust Him...

I survived about three layoffs at AT&T before I could take early retirement - I was in corporate IT. It was extremely stressful and some of my friends were out of a job, very painful. Prayers your mom will overcome this setback.
