TexasIDPA.com forum section is closing

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

The forum section of TexasIDPA.com will be closed as of January 1, 2007. The forum section was originally set up as a communication vehicle for the Texas State IDPA Championship staff to use in planning the matches. A few people asked for the other sections to be added to see if the forum might be of use to Texas IDPA shooters and clubs, but the forum has had very little activity.

The decision to close the forum is based upon continuing barrage of bogus registrations that link to porn web sites, or on-line "pharmacies." It's enough work monitoring for those registrations here on TexasCHLforum.com with a crew of Moderators, and I don't get to TexasIDPA.com often enough to make sure no porn site links have registered. (I just deleted 11 today, some of which had been registered for as long as two weeks.) In view of this and the lack of activity, the forum will be closed as of New Year's Day.

This applies only to the forum section of TexasIDPA.com. The rest of the site will remain, as it still accomplishes the original purpose of TexasIDPA.com; i.e. providing a resource to find IDPA matches and clubs in Texas, along with a schedule of matches, Classifiers and other activities.

Regards,
Chas.

Sad really... I look at it almost every day and have tried to get discussion going. There's just no traffic. It could've been a great resource.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
