Post by Teapot_XD »

Just saying "hi" to this awesome forum. Like the title says, I'm in the Denton/Sanger area and am waiting for my "plastic." Hope to be talking to a few of you and looking forward to maybe sending some brass down range.

Welcome to the forum, my neighbor!! Lots of good chat about guns to be had.

We have both gun nuts and gun enthusiasts here. :-)

Tell us more about which XD you have.

I currently carry a Taurus PT-111, 9MM, but an XD is on my short list for a
future carry piece.

I got the 4" black service in 45 acp. last summer. Loved the XD line so much I got it a little brother, XDsc 9mm. That'll be the gun I plan on carrying, if the wife doesn't claim it's her first.

Wai..what? We have a shooting range in town? I've been here a year and didn't know that. I've been going down to Dallas to shoot. But I also go see my parents when I'm in town. I'd love to check out the range here sometime.

Crossfire told me it is called The Sanger Gun Club. It is apparently a private range. Not sure if they have rifle/pistol ranges...but they have a NICE looking clay facility. It's on Rector road just east of the river bottom. There are places down by the lake where ya can go do a little plinkin, along with some really nice landowners that are willing to let ya put a round or two downrange on their places. :thumbs2:

Actually, I think the name is NTSA. Either way, it's a private range with a membership waiting list.

I keep hearing about a public range up there somewhere. Magnum Sports? Something like that? Anyone know anything about that?

I have been to Magnum Sports Center. It is west of Sanger on Duck Creek Road after Sullivan. Look for a blue-grey mobile home with a triple-wide driveway on the south side. That's it. They are open Wednesday and Friday from 1-5 and Saturday and Sunday. Phone (940) 458-7000. Call on Wednesday and Friday to make sure they are there. Real nice folks. $10.00 for all you can shoot. They have a rifle range, too. I haven't seen that part.

Hope this helps.
