SAC is "Strategic AIR Command" I said STRAC was "Strategic AREA Command. I did not say SAC. That said, how about "Strategic Army Corps."

At the top right hand corner of your post there is a pencil symbol you can click on that and edit anything in your post and then hit the submit button at the bottom.

The short time I was in the 504th It was CalleD Skilled Tough Ready Around the Clock

There was a sign on the street that had all that with the MP Symbol

and by the way everyone in the out fit was prior service There were guys from WWll and korea with salad out the gagunus, one guy even had the Glider symbol . There were some real bad asses that were never higher than PFC coming back in to go to MP School
We went on alert on I believe New Years eve 58

and Planes s landed on the air strip Big C something Planes . Issued ammo and weapons and sat on the run way all day..

Then went to the Beer hall..

Funny thing Later on I found out that was about Castros ousting Batista..

I would bet a few bucks there were airborne and Inf guys @ the same time on alert..

Ike was Pres I wonder why we stood down..

Would the world be diff today without Castro and Kruzchev Challenging Kennedy.

I wonder who gave the order to stand down.? And why?

General Edwin Walker :patriot: was forced into retirement a couple years later because of what he was telling his Troops in Germany about what some of our Congressmen were doing . I heard him speak many times in Germany he said "There are to many Pinkos in the Congress"

nothing has changed

Sorry I got off topic I have a LoOONG Memory.

AZ is OC at 18 and CC at 21, IIRC.
