Some person might think their badge makes them some sort of LEO.

I like concealed. What you don't know will not hurt me.

I see it now. Texas would require a Badge Renewal fee every 12 months, and charge for separate stamps - 1 for semi auto and 1 for wheel guns. :nono:

and proof of insurance for Glock owners.... :woohoo

If you want to carry a gun and wear a badge, go to a police academy and become a police officer.

Simple solution. Put your Texas LTC on a neck strap in a clear holder... That's what I'll do. It will be so cool next to my DoD contractor CAC and company badge. I will be the envy of all the IT geeks. My neck strap will have an MIT logo (even though I didn't go there). "rlol" "rlol"
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

Does anyone actually believe that licensed OC is going to be the green light for gang bangers to start OCing? If an officer can't tell the difference between me and a gang banger he needs to find another line of work.
If you have a CHL and you look like a gang banger and you choose to OC, oh well...
Not that I plan to OC.

I want my badge to look like a Texas ranger badge but say "Texas Lone Ranger LTC".

We don't need no stinkin' badges.

It would also just be another excuse for TheStateInc to raise the cost of the license to pay for the tin .. :mad5

And another stamp for those of us who carry a Bond Arms backup.

If a non licensee can get one, what good is it?

For me, no thanks. YMMV
What good is a police officers badge is anyone can get one? Nobody can control it either. ;-)

He got the typical Harshly Negative Opinions I've come to expect on this forum about this topic. Can anybody provide for him or myself an ACTUAL reason WHY he should NOT have a badge? Why shouldn't he? If he wants to, and like others, let him IMO. Isn't it his constitutional right to carry a gun and have a CHL badge if he wants to?

I know I'm getting a bit out there, but come on guys, can we have a good discussion, besides the two letter responses?

I support him wanted to keep the confusion down. I've encountered people to this day who do not know a person can legally carried a handgun concealed. We take for granted all the knowledge we have acquired from being inquisitive, vigilant, and up to date on gun laws. Don't forget who we're talking about dealing with, the GENERAL PUBLIC. :eek6

Because a badge suggest some type of authority which a CHL does not have. A badge would accomplish nothing and would cause confusion for the masses.
