Improper sign on outside of medical facility

#1

Post by PvilleStang »

This is on the doors outside a medical clinic in north Houston, and I keep getting into debates with one of the employees there, so I want to get the final word on this subject, once and for all. Note that this is only written as is, no Spanish form, and definitely has the Ghostbusters logo going on. All in all, I stopped caring revolvers into that place.

That sign would have been legal notice from January 1, 1996 until September 1, 1997 (when PC 30.06 became effective). Now, it's legally meaningless.

Of course, if you keep arguing with clinic employees about it, they might update it so that no one can legally carry there. I hope that's not what you're after.

For the life of me, I can not comprehend the inner compulsion of some CH licensees and/or CH applicants to point out and debate legally defective "no-guns-allowed" signage.

Be comfortable in our superior knowledge and "let sleeping dogs lie". The sign is either legal or it is not. It does not require our input with facility employess/management.

I believe that I finally found a 'correct' 30.06 sign - at the Emergency Drop-Off Entrance at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. The sign's size (big!), lettering, contrasting color, English/Spanish, wording sure seemed to be the real thing ....first one that I have seen :???: - since I have been looking. So use to seeing the various 'Want-a-be' signs or old 'Not even close' signs.

Of course, as I pointed out to a friend walking out with us - that sign prevents the legal CHL people out, but ...and I'm just guessing...probably won't stop someone illegally bring a weapon in  !

PvilleStang:

Welcome to the forum. I suppose that you are here to gain
more knowledge about the art of carrying a weapon from those
of us who have been doing this for a while.

One of the key concepts that you must embrace is that you are not
to ever bring up to any business that their non 30.06 postings are incorrect.

Telling businesses that they are non-compliant is counter productive
to you and all the rest of us CHL's. Let them post non-compliant signs.

They might be truly ignorant of the 30.06 requirements, but some
businesses post non-compliant signs as a subtle way to let CHL's know
they are OK to carry in there. The non-compliant signs are to make
the sheeple think that something is being done for them.

Be silent and carry away in any place that is not restricted by law.
Gunbusters signs don't count. 4413 signs don't count.

Be vewwy, vewwy quiet and carry away.

Rant off.

I never liked the "Company's post Gun Buster signs because they want you to come in"
just don't post anything like 90% of the business do.

OR better yet, just put CHL somewhere on the front, most people dont know what that mean.s

A few years back, I was in a Mall in Mississippi. They had placed Gun-Buster signs on the glass main entrance doors with the added wording "NO GUNS ALLOWED" below the symbol. One minor problem - they placed them on the inside of the doors  , facing the exterior of the parking lot...guess they mean to keep all weapons inside and out of the parking lot "rlol" !

Just gotta keep our sense of humor. ;-)
