Mega bus

Post by fizteach »

Does anyone have any experience with Megabus? We want to avoid driving from Dallas to El Paso but do not want to take the trip unarmed. Their web site says no weapons in luggage but that is all.

A weapon in the luggage does you no good. Carry it on your person. Just saying.

Obviously, but I want to know if they do security scans or are posted 30.06.

I do not know anything about them, but from what I read on their site that is 30.06. I would carry and if I got there and their was a problem I would get a refund and not go. Just my little opinion.

From their website at the very bottom of this page: http://us.megabus.com/terms.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
megabus wrote: D Safety - Whenever refusal or removal of a customer may be necessary for the safety of such customer or other customers or drivers, including, but not limited to:
1. Persons whose conduct is disorderly, offensive, abusive, or violent;
2. Persons who fail to comply with or interfere with the duties of driver;
3. Persons who wear or have on or about their person concealed or unconcealed deadly or dangerous weapons;
However, unless they have a 30.06, I would carry. That's just me and IANAL.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't see your latest post. I've never needed their services so I am not sure if they scan or have 30.06. Maybe if the station isn't too far from your place you can do some intel gathering? Just a thought.

Took them once. Carried. Nobody cared. No TSA traitors around either.

The ride was lame though. No power outlets or wifi, though they advertise them. The route was apparently leased out to greyhound. The bus was late, the drivers made several unscheduled stops, and arrived at the last stop late. I was not impressed.
