Anybody else subscribe to Gun-Tests magazine?

#1

Post by The Annoyed Man »

I was just wondering how many of us here do subscribe. I have stopped all other gun publications except for the three we receive from the NRA. I have found that Gun Tests doesn't hype any guns or pull any punches. I'm not sure if I understand all of their test criteria (such as how they measure their group sizes), but their reports seem pretty reliable to me.

BTW, I'm feeling a little smug about it because they published one of my letters to the editor in the October 2011 issue. If they published something I wrote, they have to be pretty smart, right?

I've been getting it for a couple of years now. I agree with you about them not hyping, and giving fair and honest tests. It's a good magazine.

BTW, which letter was yours? The letters are my favorite part.

Mine was the second letter in response to the Savage/Ruger scout rifle tests. I said that the Steyr looked like it was designed by someone infatuated with Buck Rogers.

I may have to look into a subscription now. Thanks for the heads up.

And congrats on the publication of the letter! :cheers2:

I like the magazine, but I did let the subscription lapse last year.
For the most part I liked the articles.
I did find it aggravating that they posted group sizes, but they almost never said at what range they tested it. I would think that is important.

They seem to have rectified that.

With guns and cars, some people care how they look and some people care how they work.

I have subscribed for 10+ years. They are one of 3 mags I subscribe to, Guns/American Handgunner being the others.

Sorry, didn't notice your letter, will have to go look that up. :rolll

Ha! I remember reading that one too

I love Gun Tests. As I'm getting my "store" set up (front room of my house) for my FFL certification, I have a small collection of Gun Tests magazines in it (I only started subscribing about a year ago). If anybody in the Austin area has some unwanted issues, let me know, I'll be glad to "recycle" them for ya ;-)
