A running shootout with a BG in Pennsylvania has resulted in the death of a 29 year old trooper and the wounding of another.

Although the link above doesn't included the BG's weapon, another article I read stated that the BG was using a .458 rifle.
The correct use of a .458 would be for big game. The trooper was shot through his windshield. Even if he was shot in his bullet resistant vest, I believe that would not stop a .458. Feel free to comment on this issue.
