See what my wife made for me

#1

Post by RPBrown »

As some of you may know, my wife is a crafter. She does all sorts of crafting. It's a standing joke at our house that I will have to move out to make room for her craft stuff.
Anyway, her latest endeavor is custom laser wood burning. She has even opened an Etsy store,
Anyway, I got home last night and was presented with this. I think this is super cool. What about ya'll?

Wow!
OK, so now I'm curious. What kind of equipment is needed for something like this?

Oh man, that is REALLY cool. There is a LOT of talent in that.

As someone who owns a laser engraving company, I can professionally say that is good work. Nicely done.

Is that 3D like a carving?
Hard to tell from the Pic.

Very cool though. Maybe post the link to her store?

I was trying to get an idea of the "depth" of the finished product. Your photo looks like it's maybe a 1/4" from the outer surface to the deepest part, but, I wasn't sure if that was a physical depth or an optical illusion from the laser/design.....

I went and found this video.... now I want one...

If you ever get in the Plano area let me know I’ll show you how a laser runs.

I have a friend that sells industrial lasers for Amada and I've been sourcing metal fab stuff for about 2 decades...
Probably why I wasn't clear on the OP image.... I was overthinking it.

I must warn you, apparently it is addictive. She spends most of her free time in her craft room.
If you decide to get one, purchase the ac infinity external fan to go with it. It will reduce smells and fumes tremendously more than the internal fan.
