Washing DC Mayor Calls National Guard

Well Washington DC is now getting a small taste of The Presidents open border policy. All I can say is welcome to the party. Republicans were accused of using ILLEGAL ALIENS (“migrants”) as a pawn. 🤮

https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va ... rd-bowser/
D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) said Thursday she is seeking to have 150 National Guard troops deployed to the city to help with the thousands of migrants arriving on chartered buses from Texas and Arizona, a politics-driven influx from those border states that has

Democrats can't think beyond their noses, are ignorant of "unintended consequences", just plain stupid or evil. Maybe they're all balled up like a can of worms.

I am curious. If the governor is in charge of the National Guard for a state, who is in charge of the DC National Guard? It would logically be the mayor in lieu of the governor, though I could see it being the president also, as the city is part of the federal government. But it makes no sense to be the president because then the NG would be federalized every time they get called out in DC.

So who is she asking to get them deployed?

From the great God Wiki:
The president of the United States is the commander-in-chief for the District of Columbia National Guard. Command is exercised through the secretary of defense and the commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), District of Columbia National Guard. The Secretary of Defense has delegated his command authority to the secretary of the Army for the District of Columbia Army National Guard and the secretary of the Air Force for the District of Columbia Air National Guard. The District of Columbia National Guard is commanded by a major general with a brigadier general as his or her adjutant general. The mayor of the District of Columbia, the United States marshal for the District of Columbia, or the National Capital Service director may request the commander-in-chief to aid them in suppressing insurrection and enforcement of the law; however, there is no chain of authority from the District of Columbia to the D.C. National Guard.

I love it. Although Texas (and Arizona too!) say they are shipping illegals only to DC, some of them are apparently overflowing to New York city as well. Perfect.

If you want to help, the governor has set up a donation site to help fund transportation of illegal immigrants to Washington DC:

I don't think the good citizens of Texas should have to donate to fund transportation. While it may seem like getting revenge, the federal government should be doing its job. I already pay taxes to keep the border secure and shouldn't have to pay to transport illegals out of Texas. We've got to clean this mess up, somehow. I just hope it doesn't get ugly.

Until those up in the big houses do not get a taste of what those of us who live in the little houses are tasting they will not change. Maybe someone will now put pressure on those in Washington DC to change their policies. The money paid for bus trips is well worth it to me because eventually something will get done. Just paying Federal taxes nothing is happening.

$54 Billion in U.S. Spending on Ukraine but the Pentagon can't spare 150 Guardsman for a humanitarian crisis in our nation.

I don’t think we should have to donate either as a general proposition, but that’s not the point. The point is the federal government is not doing the job, and they’re not doing it on purpose. They are screwing the border states, in particular Texas, because that’s part of the plan to let what they see as the future Democratic voters overrun the US.

Governor Abbott is very cleverly getting their attention by giving DC a taste of what Texas has been getting for years. By all means help him with that.

BTW since I posted above it appears Texas Just recently did send a bus to NYC and the mayor is having a hissy fit.
