The police *HAD* to do this 2am raid in this manner in order to prevent the family from flushing the suspect down the toilet.

And... Evidently the GPD had had the suspect in custody a few days earlier; he was released; they did the 02:00 raid on the wrong house where nobody ever heard of the suspect; and then after the fact it turns out the suspect really wasn't a suspect in the murder after all? Gonna be a lot to sift through in that inquiry.

The arrest warrant wasn't issued until the day after the raid. They must have gone to the Goines School of Police Training.
