Obama in Vietnam and no one paying attention.

I'm sure this is some kind of first. Again this will be a room or exhibit in his Presidential Library.

Now off to Hiroshima for some apologizing.

There is no doubt something funny going on with this, but that's no surprise is it ?

Watching the local news last night about the President lifting the ban on the sale of arms to Vietnam. Without being distracted from a hotly contested electronic game of Words With Friends, my wife dryly retorted "it's ok for the Vietnamese to defend their way of life but not the American citizens?"

She continued "placing" tiles while I wondered how women so easily multitask when I can't do one thing at a time most days. Needless to say, I was quite proud.

I don't watch the news anymore because I hate every major news network so I've shifted to spending 30 minutes a day reading the news online instead (sometimes it can be just as poorly put together as the tv news).

Is it just a lack of TV coverage you're meaning by no one is paying attention? Really not trying to be sarcastic. I'm curious because I've seen dozens of articles about the president in Vietnam, lifting the weapons ban against them, etc.

Paying attention now. This beats the Che photo in Cuba by a mile. It's my new favorite photo of him.

For youngsters, that's Ho Chi Minh in the background. He killed a lot of good brave and fine Americans in the '60's and '70's to unite his country, so it could be the Capitalist Oligarchy it is today.

It is probably no more destructive than anything else he might otherwise be doing today. Let him be!

That's normal for Bourdain's shows. Very seldom do they show people looking at him or the cameras.

The Viet Nam war ended over 40 years ago. No different than the reconciliation with Germany and Japan after WWII, and we rebuilt those countries to boot.
