Wow! Great story. My thanks to all the folks that helped out, from the first responders, to the "dudes in a bass boat", to the neighbor, to the people bringing in supplies. They all made a difference.

Great article, sad and tragic, but fully illustrates, the unselfishness, of the ordinary people who stepped up to help. I like the idea of a statue, to honor the men and women in bass boats, who risked their own lives to rescue others, with no thought of accolades. They also need to include people like the woman in the story, who sacrificed sleep, and emotional well being, to help organize the calls for help.

I am so proud to be a Texan.
Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second :rules: :patriot:

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.
