Thanks Oldgringo for mentioning Longmire. I’m hooked on it now.

Actually, there were 6 seasons. See above.

I spent last month rewatching Longmire, it’s a great show.

Just watched 2nd episode. There is a pretty slick swaparoo with a G19 that I thought was a good plot element.

Longmire is a hard act to follow. We hope Yellowstone get better.

A local 'Church Lady' came to my hospital room yesterday. She's a world traveler, hard shell Baptist, Travel Agent. I hadn't got the word, "Yellowstone" out of my mouth before she proclaimed , TRASH". I suggested that she turn off the sound and enjoy the scenery.....just before she got up and left.

Longmire was the reason I started subscribing to Netflix when A&E dropped it and Netflix picked it up. I just wish Netflix had done more than just two seasons. I still go back and rewatch all 6 when nothing else is on. I can't say that about very many shows or movies. Have Yellowstone DVR'ed, but haven't had time to sit down and watch any yet.

We thoroughly enjoined "Longmire"; OTOH, the "Yellowstone" series has yet to prove itself in our house of many wonders. Too much foul language and soft core porn as far as I'm concerned; however, the scenery and the plot are real.

We love that part of the country and, Lord willin', we intend to spend next summer up there in our modest RV. We probably won't go all the way up into BC because of the Canuck's silly anti-gun policies?

There are some very serious moral questions raised in these first two episodes:

Was the killing, by the youngest brother (of his own BIL) after the BIL murdered the oldest brother, justified or did it cross the line into murder?

Did the priest violate his vows by using his sermon on the 9th commandment to convince a witness to change his story (as a favor to the Kevin Costner character)?

Maybe the answer depends on how you view the first question regarding the killing that occurred during the operation to retrieve the cattle. And is that law regarding branded cattle that "stray" (is it really straying if the fence had been deliberately compromised) really fair or just?

Oldgringo,

I don't understand the 'church ladies' behavior with her outrage with a tv show, declaring it 'trash' and stalking out of your room.

Was she addled or ...?

Please enlighten when you feel up to it.

Thanks!

P.S. Hope you're feeling better.

Been wanting to watch Yellowstone, we don't have the channel it comes on though. If anyone sees it available on one of the streaming services - youtube, Amazon Prime, Hulu - let me know.

For those who enjoyed Longmire and are looking for something else, check out Justified. Not quite as good as Longmire, but a pretty decent one.

I agree, I love that part of the country also. I was stationed in Great Falls, Montana in the Air Force and my roommate was from Wyoming. Love both those states. Of course I was only 18 at the time and didn't fully appreciate my surroundings at the time. I have seriously considered spending my summers in Montana when I retire in five years. :cheers2:
Also, to Pariah3j, I watched Justified when it was still running. Loved it also, except the way it ended.

:iagree: I did have Netflix until they decided to put Susan Rice on their board and I cancelled and told them why (like they really care). Then they gave the screech that insulted Sara Sanders at the press dinner a show and then the Obamas.

Luckily I had already watched all the Longmires. They are some other series on there I am going to miss that are Netflix exclusives but so be it.

Same here. They also happen to be one of Soros pet investments. Link to five good reasons conservatives should cancel their netflix.
