Signed up for everything I can on line. I’m 1B.
My daughter got me on the list at the end of December. I was number 35,500 or so. That is around 6 weeks? Collin County is now getting around 9K vaccines a week. When did y'all get on the list for your area?

03Lightningrocks wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 1:54 pm Sorry about your friend passing away. As for your other comments. I never once read anywhere that anyone said it was a "fake" virus. What i have read are many comments stating that our government has used it to trample our constitutional rights. I happen to agree the government has and still is doing this. I am out and about pretty regular and have not witnessed anyone not wearing a mask in public for many months. The mask controversy was brought on by good old Dr. Fauci when he started out saying that wearing a mask was useless. What I have had to deal with is a few customers not wearing a mask while I am in their homes. I put up with it a few times but then started asking them to put one on before I entered. I don't know if it helps protect me or not but it sure can't hurt me.

Get on one of the waiting lists ASAP. I got on one for Collin County and received my first shot last week. I am 60 but due to my weight and high blood pressure was approved for the B list. You can go to any County you want for the shot. It does not have to be a county you live in. Heck, get on all of them. Increase your odds of getting called up.
I don't recall anybody on this forum saying it's fake, but several on other forums and FB. Those don't bother me as much as those coming to the library or ER who feel put out by the mask requirement. Also those in other businesses ignoring the mask requirement signs.

I got Pfizer vaccine, no I'll effects. The person giving shots said some people get sick on the first shot and some get it on second shot. I asked if there is a difference between the shots and he said it's the same.

Hello, finished my 2nd Moderna vaccine in January. I had some aches, sweats, fever ( but often have aches), more with 2nd dose. Actually good, having an immune response to spike protein. Anecdotally have seen more people who have had COVID with reaction to the first, the rest of us more with the second.
I have been breaking CDC recommendations for months, wearing N95s in public and pretty much do not care what others do within reason.
Definitely no double mask suggested by Fauci; Osterholm recommended against double masks.
Lots of fake implementation of science out there.

China healthiest place on Earth. US new cases have increased just a little, but highest in the world. World cases are about the same. UK almost double its daily new cases. South Africa has also gone way up. This may be due to these variants they are talking about. California beats Texas for 1st place. California deaths have more than doubled since Dec 7. Houston daily new cases up 77% Since December 7, Gone are the days when new Cases in Houston were only +250. USA about to break 30,000,000 infected and 500,000 dead, anyone want to bet if that makes the MSM news.

Second Moderna kicked my butt over the weekend. Shuddering chills followed by sweltering sweats, body aches and a headache for 36 hours starting about 12 hours after the poke.

Like Flu... Without the vomiting.

Fine by 48 hours post vax. Not so bad that I couldn't have powered through for something important, but happy to be able to lay in bed Sunday.

Unpleasant. Worth it. Would do it again today.

Oh no! I hate to hear this. I got the Pfizer and my second shot is in the next week to 10 days. I am hoping it isn't as harsh as the Moderna. Glad you made it through alright.

Thanks!

FWIW, mom's second dose of Phizer was completely uneventful, other than the bruise she got from the injection.

I hear mixed feedback from folks after having received #2 of either version of the vaccine. From nothing but injection site pain to up to 48 hours of malaise. Honestly, I'm chalking it up to a strong immune response, which is a good thing. I'd do it again today, knowing how it would go. Wasn't fun, but the reward far outweighs the cost.

I sure would like to find an affordable quantitative IgG test. The antibody tests in the retail market today are all yes/no, not quantitative. I did one of those at 15 days post vax #1 and was positive, which gave me much relief. The quantitative tests I'm finding are limited to clinical studies. Oh well.

I'm volunteering again at the TMS vax clinic this week. Looks like much better weather than last time! :thumbs2:

China healthiest place on Earth. US new cases have dropped dramatically, but still highest in the world. New infections are way down in England and Spain, South Africa and Russia, but not France Italy or Brazil. World cases are generally down. The vaccine must be working. California still in first place for total infections and deaths despite their draconian quarantines. Numbers have dropped all over the US. New York is back in first place for new infections. Texas is second in infections and third in deaths. Houston is still has as many new infections as all of Illinois. Gone are the days when new Cases in Houston were only +250. Texas is now going to be open. So is Mississippi. Who knows what this will mean.
