What do you think will happen "IN TEXAS"

#1

Post by Tex1961 »

I'm sure that many of us, not only to each other, but to our families and friends have been centered around all likely scenario's Nov 3rd on.... Unfortunately I have to leave Plano (N. Dallas) and drive to Georgetown (1 hour north of Austin) on Tuesday afternoon and come back Friday afternoon... At home will be my wife and two grown boys (23 year old twins).. Obviously I will be well armed while traveling and during my out of town stay... Both my wife and boys are all very well versed in home defense and have the means to defend our home if needed, so none of those factors are a concern..

Because of where I will be and where we live, I just don't see any immediate concerns or issues happening... My only thoughts would be some numbskulls trying to shut down freeways between here and there... And if so probably only in the downtown Dallas area... My wife will be watching news, and of course keep me up to date on any issues while I'm traveling, so if any of that happens, I can easily reroute myself to avoid any of that....

So the question that I am posing is what do YOU think will happen in Texas, and even where you live.....

Hopefully I'm wrong, but if Biden wins I don't see Texas staying part of the US very long.

If (most likely when) Trump wins, they're going to burn cities, but only those that will bend over and let them. The Antifa numbskulls know well enough not to venture into districts with unfriendly district attorneys and police.

I think mostly a big nothing burger. But I have been wrong, and I’m prepared to be wrong (mentally and tactically).
I am registered to vote in Denton County, and will have to drive from Hays County (south of Austin) back home. I will be well supplied...

I also plan on taking 281 almost the whole way, to avoid any major metropolitan areas.

Trump wins-- Some crying, moaning, gnashing of teeth. Maybe some protests.

Biden wins-- Some crying, moaning, gnashing of teeth. Massive run on 9mm, 556, .223 ammo. Again.

In a fair election Trump and Republicans win. What worries me is the "fair" part. Too many stories here in Texas of fake drivers licenses and other voter fraud that it does concern me. But I think Trump still wins Texas.

Honestly, I think we'll see some civil unrest in the denser (aka more far left) areas in Texas. But nothing much more than what we saw for the BLM/Antifa stuff. In the grand scheme of things, I think we'll be fine.

In the event I'm wrong, I'm ready for any sort of poop to blow in my general direction. It also helps that I live in a low-risk area. Considering all the orange man yard signs and the sheer number of American flags flying all over my neighborhood, we should be good.

I could see stuff happening in the downtowns of the major cities (Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc) with either winning, but I doubt it would even move into the suburbs. As strogg said, I think there are just too many of us out here for a major issue to occur. I pray that nothing happens, and we all get back to the reality before violent protesting was a thing.

I'm with TomV. Having voted early, I hope my biggest issue on Tuesday will be deciding whether or not to make one last bowhunting outing.

Originally, I thought we would have trouble if Trump won, but nothing if Biden won. I figured that trouble would come in a year or two as things went bad under his policies. After watching how easy the riots have been starting lately, I am revising my predictions.

My prediction is we will see protests if Trump wins and celebrations if Biden wins. I was amazed at the protests that occurred in Austin (I do not know about the rest of the state) when Trump won last time. They stayed relatively peaceful but I do not think they will this time. Any protests will turn violent fairly quickly this time. And I think, based on the sports celebrations lately and further back, any celebrations of Biden winning will also turn violent fairly quickly.

In both cases, I predict the left will be the ones causing trouble though there will be some on the right that are ready to look for the trouble also. In general, most of the Trump supporters will stay cool and calm either way. Most of the Trump supporters will prepare for the violence I expect, since I think they will also expect it. I know I will. And therefore, I predict the next two weeks are going to get very dangerous and very violent.

I certainly hope I am wrong, but this is one of the times where I am strongly recommending that we all prepare for the worst. If we do, we cannot be disappointed, only pleasantly surprised.

Here in Texas I don't see rioters and looters getting away with that behavior for more than about two hours before they are shut down. I can assure you that crap won't be allowed to happen in the North Dallas suburbs. I feel most of the trouble will be in many of the same cities where it has already been allowed to happen. Just in case I am wrong, I am locked and loaded as always. And more than willing to do what it takes to protect me and mine.

On my 80 acres of unincorporated land, a few Shiners will be drank watching the results. They will either be happy Shiners or sad Shiners and hopefully it won't take until 2 or 3 am like 4 years ago. I ready plan on taking off Wednesday and unlike most of the time, I will chain the gate Tuesday night but that's it.

The big cities, I could see problems. The question will be who stops them? The DPS and/or Gaurd or will city leaders actually allow the police to do their jobs? If I lived in one of the large cities, I wouldn't be drinking or sleeping.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

In my neck of woods, rioting would be bad for ones health...
